Surat Thani Immigration Busts French Nominee Business Ring

A report from Khaosod English, surfaced through Google News, says immigration authorities in Surat Thani, Thailand, have busted a business ring that allegedly used French nominees. The bust sends a clear signal that immigration enforcement is expanding beyond visa fraud to include nominee business schemes. For anyone involved in French-language exams or Canadian immigration, the case is a reminder that immigration and business records are increasingly scrutinized.

What the Report Says

The headline report, published by Khaosod English and aggregated by Google News, states that Surat Thani immigration police carried out an operation against a "French nominee business ring." No further details about the number of arrests, the companies involved, or specific charges are provided in the source. The phrase "nominee" typically refers to a foreign individual used as a front owner to allow a foreigner to bypass local ownership restrictions. While the report is brief, it confirms that Thai authorities are actively pursuing such networks.
