What TEF Score
Actually Matters?

The difference between CLB 6 and CLB 7 isn't just a few points on a test—it's often 50+ points on your Express Entry profile.

The "Golden" Score: CLB 7

For most candidates, CLB 7 is the magic threshold. Why? Because hitting CLB 7 in all 4 French skills unlocks massive bonus points that bypass high age or education requirements.

French CLB 7+ & English CLB 5++50 Points

Why you need this

With Express Entry draws now targeting French speakers specifically, having a CLB 7 score can get you an ITA (Invitation to Apply) even if your overall CRS is in the 300s or 400s.

Is your score high enough?

Most people ask: "What's the passing score?"

There is no "passing" score. There is only the score that unlocks your PR. If your CRS score is currently 440 and the cut-off is 490, you don't need a CLB 5. You need a CLB 7 to get those 50 bonus points and jump to 490+.
