Expression Écrite is the writing section of TEF Canada and TCF Canada. Candidates produce 60-200-word responses to specific tasks — often a forum response, a complaint letter, or a persuasive argument. Graders score grammar, vocabulary range, coherence, register, and task completion against official rubrics.
2 tasks, 60 minutes. Task A: complete an article (80-100 words). Task B: respond to an article expressing opinion (200 words). Scored 0-450.
3 tasks, 60 minutes. Task 1: describe (60+ words). Task 2: relate an experience (120+ words). Task 3: argue (120-150 words). Each scored 1-6.
