How do PrepMyFrench lessons work?+

Tutors set their own availability and pricing. You browse the directory, view a tutor profile, and book a one-on-one video session at a time that works for both of you. Lessons are delivered through PrepMyFrench so you keep your messages, scheduling, and lesson history in one place.

Do I have to take a speaking test before I can book a tutor?+

No — anyone can browse tutors. The speaking test (CEFR placement) gates only the optional language-partner exchanges where students practise free-of-charge with each other. For paid one-on-one tutor lessons, no placement test is required.

Can I teach on PrepMyFrench?+

How does this fit with the AI practice tools?+

Most students mix the two: use the AI-graded practice for speed and volume (5–10 short sessions a day adds up), then book a human tutor weekly to work on the parts AI can't coach well — accent, conversational rhythm, exam-day nerves. The two reinforce each other.

What does it cost?+

Each tutor sets their own per-hour rate. Lessons are billed per session — no platform subscription on top. Compare options in the directory; everything is transparent before you book.
