Error: Repetitive "C'est", weak connectors, generic adjectives ("bon", "mal").
Success: Subjunctive ("soit"), advanced structure ("force est de constater"), sophisticated vocabulary ("entravent", "récurrents").
Going under the minimum is an automatic level drop. Going significantly over indicates lack of synthesis. Target ±10% of the required limit.

Task 1 gives you the opening of a news-style article and asks you to complete it (80–100 words). The topic pool is not random — CCI Paris IdF draws from a recurring set of themes. Practice these official topic families and you will have seen the terrain before test day.
| Topic Family | Common Tasks (Real Exam Examples) | Register Expected |
|---|---|---|
| Urban life & Transport | Complete an article about a new metro line opening; describe improvements to public transit in your city; report on a bike-sharing scheme launch. | Formal journalistic (neutral, third-person) |
| Health & Well-being | Article on a new fitness programme in schools; report on mental-health initiatives at work; describe healthy eating campaigns. | Informative / descriptive |
| Environment & Ecology | Report on a local recycling scheme; describe a community garden project; article on reducing single-use plastics in your city. | Journalistic, slightly advocacy-like |
| Education & Training | Article about a new university course; describe a language-exchange programme; report on vocational training initiatives. | Factual, third-person reportage |
| Technology & Digital Life | Article on teleworking after the pandemic; describe new digital services at the town hall; report on internet access in rural areas. | Neutral journalistic |
| Culture & Leisure | Announce a new cultural festival; describe a local cinema reopening; report on a library renovation and its impact. | Announcement / descriptive |
| Work & Economy | Report on a new co-working space; article about youth employment schemes; describe a local business success and its community impact. | Formal journalistic |
Strategy tip
CCI Paris IdF reuses the same topic families across exam sessions, varying only the specific angle. Practise one article completion per topic family above — at 80–100 words under a 25-minute timer for Task A — and the real Task 1 will feel familiar instead of like a cold read. The register is always formal journalistic (no tu, no conversational tone), so lock that voice in during practice.
Still deciding? These cover the same ground from different angles.
