Stop looking at generic tables. The answer depends on your current CRS score and your target immigration draw.
If you are applying for French-Language Proficiency targeted draws, you need a minimum of NCLC 7 (CLB 7) in all four abilities.
But here is the secret: CLB 7 is also the threshold for bonus points. If you hit CLB 7, you get 50 extra CRS points (if you have English CLB 5+). That is often the difference between waiting for years and getting an ITA next week.
⚠️ NO BONUS POINTS AT THIS LEVEL
You have a CRS of 460+. You only need a CLB 7 to reach 510+ and secure a general draw ITA.
Your CRS is low (350-400). You need CLB 7 to qualify for the French-specific draws where cut-offs are much lower.
You want CLB 9. It gives even more points and makes your profile immune to draw fluctuations.
