In TCF Expression Écrite Task 3, you must write a well-structured argumentative essay of approximately 180 words. This is not a summary. This is not a letter. This is your opinion, backed by logic.

If you are aiming for C1, your essay must have a clear thesis, a counter-argument (concession), and a refined conclusion.

Part 1: The Format

The task prompt will present a statement or question, often related to society (technology, environment, education). You must:

1. Take a position.
2. Argue for it.
3. Optionally address the opposing view.
4. Conclude with an opening or a strong final statement.

Typical prompt: "Le progrès technologique est-il toujours bénéfique pour la société ?"

Part 2: The Structure (The "Burger" Model)

Think of your essay like a burger.

1. Introduction (Top Bun): Hook + Thesis.
2. Argument 1 (Patty): Your strongest point + Example.
3. Argument 2 (Cheese): Secondary point + Example.
4. Concession (Lettuce): Acknowledge the other side, then counter it.
5. Conclusion (Bottom Bun): Restate thesis + Broader perspective.

Part 3: The Introduction Formula

Step 1: Hook (Accroche). Start with a general statement or a rhetorical question.

TCF Task 3 is a mini-dissertation. The examiners are looking for logical flow, varied vocabulary, and nuance (the concession). Practice by writing one essay per day on a different topic. After 10, you'll have a template burned into your brain.
