PrepMyFrench vs PrepMyFuture: 6 Differences That Decide Your Speaking and Writing Score
Most candidates who miss CLB 7 do not miss it in listening or reading. They miss it in speaking and writing, the two sections where nobody tells you what went wrong until the official result arrives.
That is the lens for this comparison. PrepMyFuture is a credible platform, and this article says so. But if your Express Entry profile depends on a speaking or writing score, the differences below matter more than the size of anyone's question bank.
Competitor details were checked against public PrepMyFuture and Alliance Française pages on October 13, 2026. Check their sites for current packages before you buy.

Choose PrepMyFuture if you want a structured, course-style path: grammar and vocabulary refreshers, exercises, and official-style practice tests.
Choose PrepMyFrench if your risk is active production: speaking under pressure, writing inside the format, and knowing your likely score band before you pay an exam fee.
Use both if budget allows. They solve different problems.
PrepMyFuture's programs (sold as PrepMyTEF and PrepMyTCF) are offered through several Alliance Française branches in Canada. Public pages describe them as online preparation with grammar and vocabulary review, practice exercises, and practice tests across the exam modules.
That is real value. If you are early in your preparation and do not yet know the exam format, a structured program beats a folder of random PDFs and YouTube videos.
So the question is not "is PrepMyFuture good?" It is "what does it leave for you to solve on your own?"

Difference 1: You Speak With an Examiner, Not at a Prompt
The TEF Canada speaking test is two role-plays. The TCF Canada speaking test is three tasks, two of which are live interaction. In both, the examiner reacts to what you say.
You cannot rehearse that alone. Recording yourself answers a prompt. It does not train you to handle a follow-up question you did not expect.
PrepMyFrench's core feature is a live voice simulation. The AI examiner speaks French, listens to your answer, and replies to it:
TEF Canada: Section A (asking questions to get information) and Section B (convincing a friend who pushes back).
TCF Canada: Tasks 1, 2 and 3, including the opinion task where your argument is challenged.
When the session ends you get a score estimate and a breakdown of what cost you points.
Difference 2: Writing Feedback Arrives in Minutes
Writing improves through a loop: write, get corrected, rewrite. The speed of that loop decides how many times you can run it before exam day.
On PrepMyFrench you write under a timer with a word count, submit, and receive an evaluation with sub-scores, the errors found, and corrected versions. You can submit a second attempt the same evening.
If your current plan is to compare your text against a model answer, be honest about how well that works. Most B1 candidates cannot see their own agreement and preposition errors. That is why they are B1.

Vague feedback ("work on your grammar") does not tell you whether to book the exam.
PrepMyFrench reports speaking and writing results on the exam's own scale, mapped to a CEFR and NCLC level. The useful output is the trend: three attempts in a row at NCLC 7 means something. One lucky attempt does not.
A caveat that applies to every AI evaluator, ours included: treat the score as an estimate. The official examiners decide your real result.
Difference 4: Your Mistakes Become Your Study List
After an evaluation, PrepMyFrench turns your high-confidence corrections into flashcards automatically, with your mistake on the front and the correction on the back. Your own errors come back on a spaced-repetition schedule, so the ones you keep making are the ones you see most.
A generic vocabulary list teaches you words. This teaches you the specific things you get wrong.

Difference 5: Pronunciation Is Measured Word by Word
"Listen to native speakers and copy them" is advice, not feedback. PrepMyFrench scores pronunciation at the word level, so you can see which words an examiner would struggle to understand and drill those.
Difference 6: You Pay for Attempts, Not for a Calendar
PrepMyFrench sells credit packs rather than a monthly subscription. At the time of writing:

Weeks 1 to 4: Use a structured program for format, grammar and vocabulary.
Weeks 5 to 8: Switch most of your time to production. Three speaking simulations and two writing submissions a week.
Final two weeks: One full mock exam, then fix only the errors that repeat.
If you can only afford one tool and your weakest sections are speaking and writing, put the money where the feedback is.
