French Logical Connectors: The C1 Toolkit

French Logical Connectors: The C1 Toolkit
Total Word Count: 1,850+ words
At A2 level, you use Et, Mais, Parce que. At B2 level, you use De plus, Cependant, Car. At C1 level, you must demonstrate nuance and sophistication.
Logical connectors (Les Connecteurs Logiques) are the bridge between a chaotic thought and a structured argument. In TEF Writing Section B (Argumentation), they are worth 20% of the points (Coherence & Cohesion).
This guide provides the C1 Upgrade List.

Part 6: Subjunctive Connectors (The Grammar Trap)
Some connectors FORCE the Subjunctive. If you forget, it's an error.
Conclusion
Don't use all of them in one email. It will look unnatural. But replacing 2-3 "Mais" with "En revanche" or "Néanmoins" changes the perception of your level instantly. In TEF Writing Task B (Argumentation), aim to use at least one connector from the C1 list per paragraph.
