También conocido como: past participle · French past participle · participe passé agreement
The participe passé is the French past participle used in compound tenses, passive voice, and adjective-like forms. Regular endings include -é for -er verbs, -i for many -ir verbs, and -u for many -re verbs, with frequent irregular forms such as fait, pris, mis, écrit, and venu.
Agreement depends on construction: with être it agrees with the subject; with avoir it agrees with a preceding direct object; as an adjective it agrees with the noun.
Past participle agreement is one of the most common visible errors in TEF/TCF writing and advanced speaking transcripts.
