CLB 7 While Working Part Time: A Daily Study Routine for Shift Workers and Students

Part-time work sounds like it should make French easier. You have more free hours than someone on a 9-to-5.

In practice it is harder to stay consistent. Your shifts change every week. Some days you close at 11 p.m., some days you open at 7 a.m., and many of you are studying or job-hunting as well. A fixed "study at 7 p.m." plan breaks the first time the schedule moves.

So this routine does not use clock times. It uses two kinds of day, and you pick the one that matches your shift.

What You Are Aiming For

NCLC 7 in all four French skills makes you eligible for French-language category draws in Express Entry and adds 25 CRS points, or 50 if you also have CLB 5 or higher in English.
