TEF/TCF Canada Speaking: The Ultimate Guide to Asking Questions
In TCF Task 2 and TEF Section A, your entire score relies on one specific skill: your ability to ask questions to obtain information. You are usually given a short advertisement or flyer, and you must act as a customer calling to inquire about it.
Many candidates assume this is the easiest part of the exam. However, examiners are ruthless here. If you just read the words off the paper and put a question mark at the end, or if you repeat "Est-ce que..." ten times, you will not achieve a CLB 7.
Here is how to structure high-level questions that prove you are an advanced speaker.
