Edmonton-Specific Prep Tips

Practice with headphones: The AF Edmonton listening section uses professional headphones. If you usually practice with speakers, switch to headphones 2 weeks before your exam.
Type French accents fast: Practice typing é, è, ê, ë, ç, à, ù, î, ô using the Canadian French keyboard layout or Alt codes. You cannot afford to lose writing time searching for accent keys.
Simulate exam timing: Use PrepMyFrench's timed mode to replicate the pressure of the real exam.

6. Why Edmonton Candidates Should Prioritize French

Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP)

Alberta's provincial nominee program offers dedicated francophone streams with CRS cutoffs that are dramatically lower than general Express Entry:

Draw Type	Typical CRS Cutoff
Federal Express Entry (general)	520-540
AAIP Provincial Nomination	460-490
AAIP Francophone Stream	300-370

A CLB 7 in French from your Edmonton TCF exam can add 50+ CRS points and open doors to AAIP francophone draws — cutting your required score by 150-200 points.
